"Growing up in Jersey City, far from the traditions of outdoor life, I never had someone to guide me through the skills that once formed the backbone of families and communities. That’s why I founded Backdam Productions—to provide others with the opportunities I didn’t have. The name “Backdam,” a Guyanese term for undeveloped land, represents the untamed wilderness—what we call “the woods”—where nature offers so much to those willing to explore and learn."

At Backdam Productions, our goal is to teach and celebrate the skills that connect us to the land, from fishing to hunting. We aim to be a bridge for those who may not have grown up with access to the wilderness, offering a space to discover how the outdoors can nourish, sustain, and inspire us.
